How this website handles information. In short: it sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and only collects anything if you choose to send us a message.
Who we are
This website (jmmartprize.co.uk) is run by the organisers of The Jackie Marno-McGoldrick Art Prize, a volunteer-run annual art competition and exhibition in Glasgow. For data-protection purposes we are the “controller” for the limited information this site handles.
When you visit the site
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, GitHub’s servers automatically process technical information — such as your IP address and browser type — in order to serve the pages and guard against abuse. We do not have access to those logs and do not use them. See the GitHub privacy statement.
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising. Fonts and all other files are served from the site itself, so simply reading these pages involves no third-party requests.
When you contact us
The form on the Partner with us page collects your name, email address, organisation (optional) and message. It is delivered using Formspree (Formspree, Inc.), which forwards it to our inbox.
We use this information only to reply to you and to run the prize (partnerships, sponsorship and general enquiries). Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating the competition and responding to people who get in touch. We keep messages for as long as they are needed for that purpose and delete them when they are no longer relevant. See the Formspree privacy policy.
Photographs and pupils’ artwork
The site shows photographs from exhibition events and images of pupils’ competition entries. Entries are grouped only by school and year group — we do not publish pupils’ names alongside their work. Photographs and artwork are used with permission.
If you appear in a photograph, or your child’s artwork is shown, and you would like it removed, please contact us and we will take it down promptly.
Links to other sites
We link to our Instagram page and to partner and news websites. If you follow those links, the other organisation’s privacy policy applies. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, their content or practices.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you can ask us to:
- confirm what information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete information we no longer need to keep
- restrict or object to how we use it
